These postcard-sized images are layered with a front cover of cut peepholes which isolate icons and symbols, reducing landmark images to an absurd and playful reconfiguration of the meeting room. “State of the Union” breaks down and digests constituents of power in the political landscape, pointing fingers directly to gestures of fisted hands and the half-empty-half-full glass of water resting on the table. A room full of trousers and shiny black shoes stand erect, accompanied only by the adornment of drapes and one pair of heeled legs, calling into question the equivalence of these parts.
